Construction and management of a mechanized composting unit producing up to 400 t/year of processed product

In the company’s operation zone, as well as throughout the Country, the availability of organic fertilizers (manure) has become a limiting factor for quality agricultural productions and for soil and water conservation. There is a demand for compost and even imported compost can be found on the market. The proximity of the company site to Ouagadougou (more than 2 million inhabitants) is an advantage for the supply of the required raw materials (residues from pruning garden trees, slaughterhouses). Furthermore, the peri-urban area of the city and the neighboring municipalities have significant horticultural activities which can ensure the marketing.
